Errollyn Wallen is a British composer and performer living and working today. She has written over twenty operas, plus many works for orchestra.

She was the first black woman to have her work featured in the BBC Proms concerts.

Baroque music was the dominant style of music that was written between 1600 to 1750.

A concerto grosso is a form of Baroque music in which musical material is passed between a small group of soloists and the full orchestra.

In this piece, the three soloists are playing the piano, the violin and the double bass.
